Reframing Negative Events – Find Silver Linings

We all experience negative events.  We can choose to reframe how they impact us.

A practice from the Greater Good Science Center is called Finding Silver Linings.  Here are the steps:

1.      To create a positive state of mind, list 5 things in your life that make it fun, meaningful, and worthwhile.

2.      To acknowledge your challenge, describe a negative event or frustrating situation.

3.      To reframe your challenge, list 3 things to help you see the bright side of the situation.

Takeaway: With practice, we can use reframing to disempower the challenges life throws at us.

Well-being is a journey, not a quick fix.
